Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea

Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea

London Boroughs use Plantech software more than any other system, and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea is one of the largest.

ACOLAID systems incorporating Planning, Building Control, Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Housing Grants, Corporate Complaints and Licensing are implemented with SQL Server RDBMS.

ACOLAID for Environmental Health

This comprehensive system offers a clear and consistent approach to improving efficiency across all the core functions of environmental health departments.

Specifically designed to offer full coverage of environmnetal activities, the ACOLAID system comprises forms to process such environmental health functions as Service Requests, Complaints, Cyclic Inspections (eg, Food Safety, Health and Safety), Communicable Diseases, Trading standards, Housing in Multiple Occupation, Sampling, Private Water Supplies and Land, Licensing, Noise, and Pest Control cases.

Food inspections can be handled remotely with ACOLAID

Integrated processing and file management

ACOLAID is a fully integrated system that produces documents and stores copies electronically. It can calculate revisit dates and customer contact information, which can be used to create interactive electronic diary information for officers. ACOLAID for Environmental Health integrates fully with all other modules of the ACOLAID suite, providing site history not only for environmental health but also that generated by the other modules of ACOLAID.
For the Con29 processing element of local land charges, responses can be defaulted automatically as appropriate from the ACOLAID for Environmental Health database, such as all chargeable notices served against properties.

Contracting out services

Real time communication can be maintained between the authority and contractors. Requests for example can be issued to contractors via the web, and the contractor can supply the required performance information back to the authority in the same way, speeding the response to requests and cutting down on paperwork.

Process efficiencies

The logging, scheduling and monitoring of work is all done in ACOLAID. Officer diaries are maintained and job sheets produced within the system, significantly reducing administrative work. Plantech software can enable the sending of SMS message alerts to noise team officers out on site, cutting response times to minutes

Mobile Working

Any data entered into ACOLAID can be both accessed and entered remotely. Users can update the department's database in real time for any on-site visit or inspection and securely access the information they need. Intranet users in other departments can conveniently access any environmental health data that you wish to make available - without compromising the security of sensitive data.

Meeting the Challenges of E-government

Via interactive or static web pages, members of the public can use the Internet to register complaints, applications, service requests, and make enquiries on-line. The Food Register and Licensed Premises Register, for example, can be viewed on-line and updated dynamically. Plantech can help councils achieve a number of Priority Outcomes including the use of email and SMS messaging to notify citizens of forthcoming consultations and decisions.
